Our practice is predominately Functional Medicine, however we still offer osteopathic medical services when the schedule permits
What is Osteopathic Medicine ? / What is a DO ?
A DO degree is conferred upon a graduate of an accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine. I graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville Missouri, and completed my internship / residency training at the former Osteopathic Hospital of Maine, in Portland.
DO’s, also known as osteopaths, are fully licensed physicians who practice in all areas and specialties of medicine. Emphasizing a whole-person approach to treatment and care, they are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them get healthy and stay well. Osteopathic physicians are taught to focus on prevention, tuning in to how a patient’s lifestyle and environment can impact their wellbeing. DOs strive to help you be truly healthy in mind, body and spirit—not just free of symptoms.
From our first days of education and training, we learn to:
• Look beyond symptoms of illness and disease to examine the whole patient.
• Partner with our patients to help prevent illness and injury.
• Use our hands to diagnose and trest illness and injury and increase your body’s natural tendency toward self-healing.
